This collection contains material acquired by the University archives since the founding of the University. The materials related to the original Hillyer College are filed in the Hillyer collection. Materials relating to the University as a whole are filed with the University of Hartford (U of H) Collection.

Historical Note
The College of Arts and Sciences was the name given to the main liberal arts program of the University of Hartford when the original Hillyer College, the Hartt School of Music, and Hartford Art School merged to form the University. Today the College of Arts and Science continues to be the main undergraduate, liberal arts school of the University. The Hartt School and the Hartford Art School continue to grant their own degrees.
